Inspection Services are provided according to the Terms and Conditions described in the Inspection Agreement published in the FAQ Section.

Building inspections are very thorough and usually last between 2 to 3 hours, but can take longer for larger, older, or unique buildings. The inspection covers the major components of the building including the foundation and structure, roof, plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling, interior and exterior, and more. We provide Professional Thermal Imaging as a standard for all residential and commercial building inspections. You are welcome to attend the inspection. If you do not attend the inspection we would be more than happy to go over the report by phone and answer any questions you may have.

Written inspection report is usually available within 48 hours, and is typically around 30 pages long with photos and descriptions of problem areas, as well as lots of useful information specific to your building on what should be done to increase energy efficiency of your home.

Commercial building inspections are conducted in accordance with ASTM E2018-15 Standard Guide for Property Condition Assessments and residential building inspections are conducted in accordance with The Standards of Practice defined in Illinois Home Inspector License Act.

Citizen Architects Inc. has qualified real estate inspection professionals and architects servicing many parts of Illinois. We have inspectors that cover the following areas within 60 mile radius from our office: City of Chicago, Cook, DuPage, Will, Kane, Kendall, Grundy, Kankakee, DeKalb, Boone, McHenry & Lake County.
